History
A perfect blend of process and technology, the Virtual Bottomline Firm Management Solution (VBFM) is a total control / administrative solution that was developed from the need to simplify the management of professional offices.
The philosophy behind VBFM is a blending of the traditional controllership function with the advances in current technology to provide user-friendly, intuitively-structured, financial control and case conduct, including document management integration.
When he assumed the management of his wife Gail’s litigation practice, Ron Miller saw a need for an easy-to-use program to streamline the crucial daily financial operations that are a part of any professional firm. Drawing on his experience in the controllership function of large corporations in the heavy construction and forest industries, he commenced the design of a computerized solution.
An initial program was created in 1992, which functioned as a real-time, network-operational DOS program.
Ron launched the VBFM program design in 2003, focusing on a “management of outcomes” approach to the overall solution in firm management.
A partnership with John Ryan, whose experience in the professional office marketplace prompted much of the design input, resulted in the “intelligent disbursement™” tracking and recovery elements of the VB solution.
The effectiveness of Virtual Bottomline Firm Management Solutions lies in the fact that it is a truly intuitive, user-friendly, integrated solution in the management of a current-day professional practice, removing the requirement for the single solution stopgap technology which had evolved in the intervening years.
VBFM is based in Kelowna, BC, Canada.
